⚔️ Historical Context

Akechi Mitsuhide served as one of the most trusted generals of Oda Nobunaga before becoming one of the most famous figures in Japanese history. In 1582 he led the coup at the Honnō-ji Incident, where Nobunaga was forced to commit seppuku, dramatically changing the course of Japan’s unification.

Although Mitsuhide briefly claimed power, his rule lasted only thirteen days before being defeated at the Battle of Yamazaki by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. His legacy remains one of the greatest mysteries of the Sengoku period, making him an iconic character for historical collections and narrative tabletop campaigns.
