⚔️ Historical Context

Mounted archery was one of the oldest and most prestigious military traditions in Japan. Armed with the iconic yumi, samurai cavalry could engage enemies at long range while remaining highly mobile across the battlefield. During the Sengoku period, mounted archers continued to serve alongside infantry and cavalry equipped with yari and firearms.

The ability to accurately fire from horseback required years of dedicated training and reflected the elite status of the samurai class. Mounted yumi warriors combined speed, precision and battlefield awareness, making them valuable commanders, scouts and shock cavalry throughout the Age of Warring States.
