🪖 Historical Context

In early medieval Ireland, levies were recruited from the local population—farmers, herders, and craftsmen who fought for their clans during times of conflict.
The sling was one of the most ancient and effective ranged weapons, used for hunting and warfare alike.
These Irish slingers provided cheap yet efficient missile support, harassing enemies before melee combat.
